After 45 years of being hosted at the historic Horn Point Aerodrome on the campus of the University of Maryland Horn Point Laboratories, we were forced to find a new home. The instillation of a solar farm on the airfield grounds has eliminated our parking and display areas, forcing us to fly the coop. We have landed at the Massey Aerodrome & Museum about 50 miles north of our previous location in Cambridge, MD. Massey is a couple of miles east of Rt. 301 on Rt. 313 just east of town. Our new roost offers a long & wide runway, clear approaches, plenty of open space to grow and the comaraderie of kindred spirits. Hopefully the adjustment of the date from May to June will afford us better weather as well. The Fly-in is hosted by the Potomac Antique Aero Squadron, a chapter of the Antique Airplane Association.
Weather permitting, we expect to have dozens of antique and classic aircraft for the public to admire and for formal judging. Experimental and modern aircraft are welcome too; fly in and drive up visitors alike will be able to see the history of flight up close and personal.
